Lugazi Municipal council is situated 47km by road, East of Kampala along Kampala – Jinja highway in Buikwe District. It is located 23km by road, East of Mukono. It borders with Nkokonjeru Town Council in the south, Wakisi division in the north, Njeru municipal council in the East, and Nagojje sub-county in the west Lugazi Municipality covers an area of 446.64 kms contributed as follows

Central division = 19.20 kms
Kawolo division = 121.44 kms
Najjembe division = 306.00 kms

Population is 114,524 with a growth rate of 2.8 pa and 99,401 households and a daytime population of 114,524 people.

Strategic Direction. The goal of this Plan is “Sustained and Inclusive Human Capital Development, Local Economic Development for Improved Quality of Life in Lugazi Municipality. The goal will be pursued under the overall theme of Sustainable Industrialization for inclusive growth, employment and sustainable wealth creation. The key objectives of the Plan are:

To Strengthen management information systems at all levels to guide planning, M&E, and day-to-day management.
To Strengthen Partnerships with development partners for harmonized development of the Municipality.
To enhance agricultural, commercial productivity and marketing at house hold level.
To improve primary and maternal health care for the community
